Westway Development Trust provides a range of sports grants and bursaries to individuals and community groups.
Westway Development Trust’s small sports grants scheme aims to assist community organisations (particularly small groups) based in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea with their sporting activities. Grants awarded should make a significant contribution to a particular small-scale activity. However, grants will not be given to pay off deficits.
The Trust has set aside £4,000 for Small Sports Grants in 2009/10 and the maximum grant is normally £500 per year.
The sports training grants scheme aims to help people who live in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea to pay for training courses which could lead to employment in the sport and fitness industry.
The Trust has set aside £2500 for the sports training grants in 2009/2010 and the maximum grant is normally £300.
The bursary scheme aims to help young people from the Trust’s catchment who use Trust facilities with the cost of taking part in sport on a regular basis. There are two types of bursary; development and performance. Development bursaries are aimed at young people who are new to participating in a sport regularly and performance bursaries are aimed at young people who are already achieving at a good level in a sport.
