Adult Learning

Strengthening our Community Through Learning

We offer a wide range of part-time courses for adults aged 19 and over, funded by the Greater London Authority (GLA).

Our high-quality adult education programmes are delivered at accessible venues across North Kensington, supporting learners from all backgrounds.

Whether you’re looking to gain a qualification in ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages), improve your digital skills or explore your creativity through our arts and cultural courses, Westway is the perfect place to start your learning journey.

Our courses are designed to help you develop new skills, build confidence, and progress into employment, self-employment, or further education.

We are committed to inclusive learning and welcome applications from all adults—regardless of gender, disability, ethnicity, sexual orientation, family background, or religion. Our supportive environment ensures every learner is valued and empowered.

We’re incredibly proud of our learners’ achievements. Many have gone on to start their own businesses, secure employment, or progress to higher education.

We are here to help you achieve your goals, realise your potential, and shape a better future.

Most learners will not need to pay fees.

Fee exemption and reduced fees include the expectation that those who can afford to pay should pay and that public funding should be refocused to those who need it most.

We receive funding from the Greater London Authority (GLA) and the Adult Skills Fund (ASF).

The fee charged will depend on the learner’s fee status.

We have two levels of funding irrespective of delivery mode available for learners:

  • Full Funding
  • Co-Funding

Full Funding

No fee will be charged. Learners will not pay any course tuition fees, exam fees, registration or other course charges which are a requirement of the learning aim.

Our ESOL and Digital skills courses are fully funded.

Co-Funding

The GLA will subsidise the cost for these learners. The advertised price covers the balance of the cost.

Learners will pay the advertised price for the course if they do not meet any of the criteria indicated below

Learners will be entitled to fee exemption if they are on receipt of certain state benefits. Additional charges for materials, examinations and other costs might be added, where applicable.

Our creative courses are co-funded

Learners can be fully funded or entitled to fee exemption if both their personal status and their chosen course meet the qualifying criteria below.

  • Aged 19 or over in the year starting the course.
  • Resident in London.
  • Non UK nationals with permission to live and work in the UK and have pre-settled or settled status under EUSS.
  • A refugee.
  • Asylum seeker (resident in London and lived in the UK for six months or longer).
  • Unemployed and on Job Seekers Allowance (JSA), Employment Support Allowance (ESA – all types) or Universal Credit (UC).
  • Employed/self-employed and earning below the GLA low earning threshold of £27,007.50*

Please call us on 02089625741 or email us at learning.admin@westway.org if you have any questions.

* This may change in-year if the GLA change their low earning threshold.
