What does “Community Centring” mean to you?
In 2021, we published our Horizon Plan, a strategic document which sets out our aims, objectives and key strategic work packages between now and 2025.
Central to this document is our aim to “be community centered in all that we do”.
We have thought a lot about what this looks like both in our operations and our communications and will be publishing our thoughts to support our Horizon Plan later this year. We also want to hear and share a wide range of views on the topic from across our diverse community.
We’d like to invite individuals from North Kensington to submit a short paper, outlining what Community Centering means to them.
If you’d like to submit your thoughts then please send a 200 word summary of what you’d like to say. Here are things to consider:
- What does ‘community centering’ mean to you?
- What does a community centered organisation look like?
- What are some stand-out examples of successful community-centered organisations?
We will then look at all those we receive and invite a number of individuals to write a full paper on the topic. These will be published in a compendium of approaches to community centering, which will give us an opportunity to continue a dialogue with our communities on this topic.
