We’d like to pass on our condolences to the family and friends of John O’Brien, former Director of Sport & Fitness at Westway Trust.
John joined Westway Trust in 1981. During his time a with us, John was instrumental in the establishment of Westway Sports Centre, following a tremendous amount of hard-work, fundraising and partnership building.
John was passionate about making sport accessible for all. He worked closely with community groups across North Kensington; inspiring many young people to make a career in sports, as well as making constructive links with the NHS and Sport England.
We thank John for his contribution and for the legacy he has left in our community.
John's former colleagues have aranged for a “memorial football match” to take place at Westway Sports Centre on Thursday 17 April (4pm – 6pm) between ex-colleagues and people that knew John. Please contact us if you'd like more information about the Memorial Match.
