Funding local residents, groups and projects through grants or investments is how Westway Trust makes a big difference to North Kensington. Our aspiration is to see a thriving ecology of community groups across the area, with Westway seen as a trusted and enabling funder and partner.
Westway has identified six priority areas for investment activity within the community, based on our experience, consultation with local people and groups, and research we commissioned in 2018/9. The six priority areas are:
- Isolation
- Spaces for young people
- Recreation and exercise
- Economic participation
- Arts and culture
- The environment
A summary of the research report and its recommendations can be found here.
Our grants programmes are guided by our Horizon Plan and a Grants Review conducted in 2022.
As a result of the research, all of our current funding programmes outlined below, reflect a commitment to improving opportunities for local people in these priority areas.
