We're excited to formally launch BAY 57 under the Westway Flyover as a dedicated space for community events, activities and celebrations.

We're now calling for expressions of interest from community groups to host events and activities during our Bay 57 Showcase, during the spring school holidays from 7-20 April 2025.

We're offering five local organisations £2000 each to contribute to an exciting programme of events in Bay 57 in the Easter School Holidays this year.

To apply, simply complete our Expression of Interest form before 28 February. 

Important Information:

  • To be eligible, your organisation must be a community organisation, registered charity, registered Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO), or registered Community Interest Company (CIC), or a community group with a written constitution or governing document (i.e. articles of association), and should operate within RBKC. Preference will be given to organisations who can demonstrate impact to communities in at least one of the five wards of North Kensington (Dalgarno, Colville, Notting Dale, St Helen's, Golborne) 
  • We cannot fund political or animal welfare organisations.
  • Funding decisions will be based solely on the merits of the funding request and not dependent on the nature of any existing relationships with Westway Trust.
  • All successful applicants will be required to provide an expenditure and impact report within six months of receipt of funding. Failure to provide these reports may result in being asked to return funds, and/or ineligibility for future funding from Westway Trust.
  • Successful applicants will be asked to return all funds in full if the event/project is cancelled, postponed, or changes from the purpose/objective outlined in the application.
  • Your event or activity should take place between 7-20 April 2025.
  • Your event should take place between the following hours: Mondays - Thursdays between the hours of 9am-9pm, Fridays & Saturdays 9am-10pm and Sundays 9am - 8pm 
  • Your event should either be free of charge for local people to attend, or proceeds from ticket sales should be ring-fenced for community projects or to support your community organisation. 
  • If selected to take part in the showcase, all event hosts will need to provide the following:
    • A risk assessment
    • Public Liability Insurance
    • A Temporary Event Notice from RBKC (if applicable)
    • Waste management plan
    • Security plan
  • If your event is selected to take part in the Showcase, Westway Trust staff are able to provide the following support:
    • Equipment loan (tables, chairs, stage, audio equipment etc
    • Promotion of your event as part of the Bay 57 Showcase Programme
    • Event planning advice and support

Access to toilets for your event:

The brand new Acklam Public Toilets (in Bay 55) will be open and operating in time for the Bay 57 Showcase to take place in April. The standard operating hours for the toilets are 9am-6pm, 7 days/week. If your proposed event falls outside these hours, you are asked to factor toilet costs into your budget. Please allow £80/hour for times outside 9am-6pm, or contact us to discuss your specific requirements
